Cheesy Jalapeno Popper Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 fresh jalapeno peppers chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Cut the bread lengthwise and place both parts face side up on the sheet.
  4. Brush both pieces with melted butter. Sprinkle with garlic powder.
  5. Cover with a piece of aluminum foil and place in the oven.
  6. Bake for 5 minutes.
  7. In the meantime, remove seeds and chop the jalapeno peppers. Reserve 2 tablespoons to sprinkle on top.
  8. In a medium mixing bowl, mix together cream cheese, sour cream, chopped jalapenos, salt and pepper.
  9. Remove the bread from the oven. Uncover.
  10. Spread the jalapeno dip mixture on the bread, dividing equally between the two pieces of bread.
  11. Top with cheese.
  12. Sprinkle the reserved chopped jalapenos over the cheese.
  13. Place bread back in the oven for 2 to 4 more minutes, to melt the cheese. (see note)
  14. Remove from the oven and place on a cutting board. Let cool for few minutes.
